Review by hotel critic
The Quay offers a mixed bag when it comes to value versus luxury. The room I stayed in was quite pleasant, spacious enough to unwind after a day of exploring. The bathroom was satisfactory, equipped with free toiletries that definitely came in handy. The settee left much to be desired—grubby and uncomfortable, it was not the inviting spot I had hoped for after a long day. One redeeming feature was the electric kettle; nothing like a nice cup of tea to settle down with. Free Wi-Fi and a flat-screen TV also kept me entertained during quieter moments. While it is a non-smoking property, the combined experience of comfort and luxury didn't fully match the price I paid. If you’re seeking a balance between affordability and an element of luxury, the Quay might be worth considering—but be mindful of what you prioritize. For a solo traveller like me, the quest for serenity is paramount, and while the hotel's charms are notable, they didn’t exactly justify the financial investment. It’s certainly an experience, but keep your expectations in check. Safe travels!
